Groups of special needs children must provide a smaller student to chaperone ratio. Students will consider the ways in which art conveys information about status, power, and identity. Artists use line, shape, color, and texture to create dynamic works of art. Mecklenburg County residents! In this tour, students will draw connections between visual art and literature. Adult chaperones receive free admission for all school tours. Teachers and students may also explore the Museum independently. School tours may have no fewer than 10 students and no more than 60 students. Explore how African American artists search for identity, reclaim their heritage, and express values and issues fundamental to their time.
